Schools/Employers Should Consider Paying Membership Fee for School Social Work Students/Employees:

See here for a template that you can use to request that your employer cover the cost of your SSWA DC membership, as some school-based employers have done for other members. Please make a copy of the document (File/Make a copy), and then you will be able to edit it with your specific details.

For schools or employers interested in securing membership for multiple individuals, we are offering a 20% group discount ($2 off each student membership fee and $6 off each full member fee. If interested, reach out to info@sswadc.org for more information.

For any new members (or members who have renewed) as of August 30, 2025: Membership will be renewed automatically.

Members can stop automatic renewal payments from their WildApricot member profile page. To do so, they click the Invoices and payments tab in their profile then click Stop recurring payments button beside the membership renewal transaction.

Professional Membership - $30.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year Automatic renewal (recurring payments) This membership is available to those individuals who are currently employed as a school social worker or school-based therapist, home and school visitor, those who teach social work, and those who work in allied professions (case management, child welfare, etc) in the DC metropolitan area.

Mental Health Affiliate or Retired SW - $15.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Open to any person who is not eligible for Full Membership but is interested in the profession of school social work, including:
a) Retired or former school social workers
b) Retired affiliates
c) Those who practice within schools across discipline (counseling, psychology, instruction)
d) Others who subscribe to the purposes of the Association
e) Individuals employed in school social work or allied professions outside of Washington, DC, or
individuals employed in allied professions in the Washington metropolitan area

Social Work Student - $10.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This membership is available to students currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's level social work or other human service program, and to recent graduates of these programs (i.e. student membership application submitted no more than 2 months after graduation).
