Consider honoring a school social worker for DC School Social Worker of the Year! The School Social Work Association of DC is accepting nominations for the DC School Social Worker of the Year. The awardee will be honored at our 2023 Virtual Conference in May and will represent DC as our nominee for the next National School Social Worker of the Year competition.

In response to requests for more time, nominations will be accepted until Friday, March 24th Monday, March 27th COB. Please submit your nomination here.

Candidates must:

1. Be a practicing school social worker in a DC early childhood, K-12, or adult education program within a DCPS, public charter, or a non-public school.
2. Possess an LICSW, LCSW, or LGSW license.
3. Have three or more years of experience as a school social worker.
4. Demonstrate a commitment to the position that extends beyond the expected duties of the position.
5. Have outstanding achievement(s) in professional growth.

6. Be a full member of the School Social Work Association of DC (SSWA DC), with the exception of current Executive Committee members.
